Evening Working Sessions

There will be evening sessions with light refreshments on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evenings. These sessions will provide students with an opportunity to discuss their projects with the speakers, as well as a chance for everyone to get more details or clarifications from the speakers. Active participation is strongly encouraged.

  • On Friday there will be an informal gathering in the ``Canyon A, B, C'' room of the Marriott hotel from 7:00 to 10:00pm.
  • On Saturday the working session will take place at Bill McCallum's house, 5130 N. Campbell Avenue. (Phone: 615-4569) Five vans (holding about 15 people each) will leave the Marriott hotel at 7:15 and 8:00 and will return at 9:45 and 10:30. If you drive yourself, please note that parking is limited. Parking on along Campbell Avenue is the best bet.
  • On Sunday the working session will take place from 7:00 to 10:00 pm in the ``Canyon A, B, C'' room of the Marriott hotel.
  • On Monday and Tuesday the working sessions will be held in the auditorium of the Arizona Historical Society Museum, 949 E Second St. (This is across the street and slightly east (towards campus) from the Marriott hotel.)

Free Afternoon

The afternoon of Monday, March 11 is free time. We have arranged for 4 vans, each holding about 15 people to drive people to the Desert Museum or Sabino Canyon (destination and possible lunch stop to be determined by driver and occupants ...). Vans will leave from the parking lot near PAS 201 at about 1:00 PM. You might also consider a visit to the Center for Creative Photography, one of the best collections of photography in the world. As part of their 25th anniversary celebration, they will have an exhibit “The Ansel Adams Centennial: Classic Images and A Portrait of Ansel Adams.” (Adams was one of the founders of CCP.)

The conference banquet will be on Wednesday, March 13 at 7:00pm in the ``Canyon A, B, C'' room of the Marriott hotel with a cash bar followed by a buffet dinner. The cost to participants is $15, to be paid at registration.

Registration for the conference will take place at the informal gathering and from 8:00 to 9:00am, March 9, in the lobby outside PAS 201. You can get expense reimbursement forms and pay the banquet fee at this time.
